1. Halong Bay
Perhaps one of the most visited places in Vietnam, Halong Bay is full of sites and spots to see, which will take your breath away. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was formed millions of years ago, thanks to tectonic movement, erosion and climate. The result are the thousands of limestone islands and islets that surround the bay. There’s also caves, beaches and gorgeous mountains that you can visit. Imagine yourself going on a boat cruise while watching all the uninhabited islands. Truly a natural wonder!
2. Hoi An
This picturesque, quaint town is located only 15 km away from Da Nang and has become a very popular tourist destination. If you’re looking for a place that’s truly photogenic, Hoi An will most certainly please you. It’s quite impossible to get a bad photo here – everything’s stunning, from the architecture to the many lanterns, there’s something pretty in every corner. Wait when night falls and the thousands of colorful lanterns light up the town. Picture perfect, in other words.
3. Hai Van Pass
This has often been called “the most beautiful road in the world” by travellers. It’s truly one of the most spectacular places where you can go on a motorbike by yourself (only do it if you’re very confident on the bike) or go with a tour guide. The views are magnificent and looks like a postcard. You will not be able to resist snapping photos when you reach the top.
4. Sapa
Northern Vietnam’s landscape is dramatic and grand. Make sure to visit Sapa, where you will see the rice terraces and meet Vietnam’s ethnic minority, the Hmong. The rice terraces sure makes a spectacular view. There’s not really a bad season to go here, but if you prefer the more yellow landscape, September and October are your best bet. April and May is when the locals grow rice on the fields, and from afar it looks like a painting. Your Instagram feed will pop with colours.
5. Tam Coc, Ninh Binh
Also called “Halong Bay on Land”, Tam Coc has boomed in the past years, and more tourists are finding their way to this paradise. Take a boat ride along the river and watch the incredible natural landscape in Ninh Binh unfold. If you really want a spectacular photo, make sure to hike up to the Mua Caves, where you will be able to see Tam Coc from above.
6. Red and White Sand Dunes in Mui Ne
Who knew sand dunes existed in Southeast Asia? Well, they do! And you can find them in Mui Ne, Vietnam. There are tours that goes everyday, but you can also do it independently. You have to see the sunrise by the white sand dunes – that’s where the magic happens. When you sit in the smooth sand, watching the sun rise, see the sands change colors and the skies turn pink, orange and every possible bright colour you can imagine. It’ll almost make you forget to put your phone up and take photos because it’s that breathtaking. The red sand dunes are smaller, but definitely worth a visit as well.
7. Lo Voi Beach, Con Dao Islands
You can’t go to on vacation without taking a beach photo. But don’t just go to any beach – go to one of the best beaches in Vietnam, with crystal clear turquoise water and white sand beaches that are almost untouched. There are no hotels built next to it, which makes it feel even more unspoilt and secluded. Con Dao Islands is not the easiest accessible island, but there are daily flights that depart from Ho Chi Minh City everyday. Not only is the whole island pristine, but Dam Trau Beach is one you cannot miss! The best thing? You might even have the beach all to yourself, so you can snap as many photos as you want to without being disturbed.
