In later years, Vietnam has seen an increase in tourism. People from all over the world are discovering this country in Southeast Asia and Russians have long been drawn to Vietnam. In fact, in 2016 there were 450,000 Russian tourists in the country. Nha Trang, the beautiful beach city, is especially favorable amongst Russians. You can even find menus written in Russian!
One of the reasons why it is so popular for Russians to visit Vietnam is because of the direct flights that is being offered. There are more than 700 direct flights each year, and when the harsh winter comes to Russia, then Vietnam is a good option to flee from the cold.
Travel around Vietnam and you will most likely meet at least a few Russians on your trip. As Bali is for Australians, Vietnam is for Russians. What attracts many people to Vietnam, besides the warm and tropical climate, are the high-end restaurants, luxurious hotels, water activities, a fascinating culture, delicious cuisine and cities that never sleeps. When it comes to landscapes and nature, Vietnam is truly diverse. You will find mountains, long stretches of coastline, beaches, jungles and rainforest. While we’re at it, due to the country’s climate, there are also some incredible exotic fruits that are grown here. No wonder why many people visit this country!
If you are from Russia, you will be glad to know that you do not need a visa if you don’t intend to stay for more than 15 days. However, if you do want to stay for more than 15 days (which we recommend because there’s so much to do!), you will need to apply for a visa.
1. Electronic visa or Vietnam e-visa for Russian passport holders
From 01 Feb 2019, under Decision 17/2019/NĐ-CP of the Government of Vietnam, citizens of Russia are eligible to apply online for an e-visa of Vietnam online (e-visa is a single entry valid for staying 30 days).
Russian passport holders, who want to visit Vietnam for less than 30 days for a single trip, can apply online for an e-visa directly at the government website https://evisa.immigration.gov.vn(please note that the fee is non-refundable if you apply your e-visa at the government website).
If you want to secure your e-visa with refundable policy (100% satisfied or get back your money) you can apply your e-visa through our easy form application (filling your entry date, entry and exit port of arrival then submit your passport copy online) then we will take care the rest of procedure to get your e-visa on time as promise.
Note : if you want to visit Vietnam for multiple times in one month or want to visit Vietnam for more than one month, please choose options below :
2. Apply for a visa through the embassy or consulate of Vietnam in Russia
If you want to visit Vietnam for more than 30 days, there are two ways for you to get a visa if you are from Russia. You can either go to the Embassy of Vietnam in Moscow and speak to them in person. They will help you out when you are there. Remember to bring all the important documents such as passport, flight tickets, etc. This option is good if you live in Moscow and don’t mind going to the embassy. However, if you live far away, this is not the most desirable solution since it will not only take you a long time with transportation, but it will also cost you a bit more. Applying for a visa through an embassy can also take longer time and if you forgot to bring all the necessary documents, you will have to do the process all over again.
3. Visa on Arrival – Apply online for pre-approval then pick up your visa on arrival at the airport of Vietnam
Therefore, we recommend you to do the second option: which is to apply online for a Visa on Arrival. With this visa, you are only allowed to enter Vietnam through air. This is the better option as well for those who do not wish to travel too much or submit their passport via postal mail. You can easily get a visa by getting in touch with a travel agent in Vietnam. You just need to fill out an online form where you state your name, occupation, purpose of visit, duration of stay, etc. Once this is processed, an approval letter will be sent to you via the email you wrote. Don’t forget to print this approval letter out so that you can present it to the immigration officers in Vietnam who will then stamp your letter. You only need internet and a computer to do this and you can apply for it anywhere in the world! It’s effective, quick, cheap and safe. There is no need to send your passport anywhere or any other important private documents.
If there is an emergency and you need your visa faster, you can always apply for an Emergency Visa. It will then be proceeded from 30 minutes to 4 hours. An Approval Letter is then sent to you via email before you board the plane. As soon as you arrive in one of the international airports of Vietnam, you will have your visa ready.
It isn’t much harder than that! As soon as you get your visa, you can start enjoying the many activities in Vietnam. Do as many other Russians and join us now in sunny Vietnam!
