When the cold weather hits Europe, many people want to escape somewhere warm and tropical. That is why Vietnam is one of the best destinations to go to, since you will most definitely get good weather all year round (depending on where in the country you go to). There is never a bad time to go to Vietnam actually – there will always be things to do and places to visit. Head over to one of the most beautiful sights in Vietnam – Halong Bay – and cruise around thousands of limestone formations. Even during winter time the weather is usually pleasant so you can even take a dip in the ocean if you feel like it.
But rest assured, there are more places to see than Halong Bay. You have the whole area of Sapa, which is famous for its rice terraces and home for the Hmong, Vietnam’s ethnic minority. There is also Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, which has charmed many people who simply could not leave the city. The expat community is ever growing and it’s not difficult to see why – it’s an incredible and exciting city that breathes life. You will always find things to do and new places to eat at.
If you prefer to be on a beach, head along the coast of Vietnam and choose from many beaches. Why not combine it with a cultural trip to Hoi An, a small ancient town that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rent a bike and head over to the beach when you feel like you need some sunshine.
As you can see, there is a lot to do and explore in Vietnam. If you have decided to fly here, you will have to first apply for a Vietnam visa. Fortunately at the moment, citizens from Latvia can apply for an E-Visa, and also there are two other options:
1. Electronic visa or Vietnam e-visa for Latvian passport holders
From 01 Feb 2019, under Decision 17/2019/NĐ-CP of the Government of Vietnam, citizens of Latvia are eligible to apply online for an e-visa of Vietnam online (e-visa is a single entry valid for staying 30 days).
Latvian passport holders, who want to visit Vietnam for less than 30 days for a single trip, can apply online for an e-visa directly at the government website https://evisa.immigration.gov.vn(please note that the fee is non-refundable if you apply your e-visa at the government website).
If you want to secure your e-visa with refundable policy (100% satisfied or get back your money) you can apply your e-visa through our easy form application (filling your entry date, entry and exit port of arrival then submit your passport copy online) then we will take care the rest of procedure to get your e-visa on time as promise.
Note : if you want to visit Vietnam for multiple times in one month or want to visit Vietnam for more than one month, please choose options below :
2. Visa on Arrival (VOA) – Apply online for pre-approval then pick up visa on arrival at the airport of Vietnam
The first option is to apply for a Visa on Arrival, also called VOA. What you need to do is to fill out all necessary information in the online form you can find in our website. The VOA is the most popular option since it is convenient, easy to apply to, quick and affordable. You can apply for this visa from anywhere in the world. All you need is a computer and internet. Also important to note is that you don’t have to send away your passport, or other important private documents, anywhere. Once you have filled out the Online Application Form, you will get a confirmation email within 1-2 working hours in order to see the status of your Online Application. You will then normally receive your Approval Letter within 2 business days. When the letter comes, don’t forget to print it out so the immigration officers in Vietnam can stamp your passport.
If, by any chance, you need to get a visa more urgently, there is the option to apply for an Emergency Visa. We will then proceed your visa within 30 minutes to 4 hours. As soon as you arrive at one of the International Airports in Vietnam, you will have your visa ready.
Also, you now have the option to buy “On Arrival Support”, which is a very good option for those who wants to check in to Vietnam faster:
- Standard Support : +US$20/pp
Our staff will meet you in front of the “visa on arrival” desk with a welcome board, then take care all procedures necessary to get the visa stamped on your passport. Please prepare 25 USD/pers and give it to our staff to pay for visa stamp fee.
- VIP Support : +US$35/pp
Our staff will meet you in front of the “visa on arrival” desk with a welcome board, receive your passport and give it back with the visa in 5-10 minutes, then escort you to check out via the VIP gate. Please prepare 25 USD/pers and give it to our staff to pay for visa stamp fee.
2. Get your visa through the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate
If you do not wish to apply for a VOA, there is the opportunity to get a visa at the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in Latvia. This is not preferred by many though, since it can be quite inconvenient if you don’t live close to the embassy or consulate. You will have to then spend time and money on transportation and will have to remember to bring all necessary documents in order for the process to go through. If you fail to bring everything, you will have to start the process all over again. This can be time consuming, but it is the second option for you to choose from.
When your visa has been processed and accepted, you can start exploring Vietnam and see what the country has to offer! No matter when you come, you will enjoy your time in one of Asia’s most beautiful and diverse countries.
