Traveling around Asia has long been popular. You hear about backpackers who seek the thrill of Southeast Asia, foreigners who travel to Japan and fall in love with it, people who go to China to study, et cetera. Vietnam is no exception. In fact, it is one of the most popular destinations in Asia. People from all over the world are being charmed by this Southeast Asian country, and it should come as no surprise. Vietnam has many things to offer. In terms of landscape, it is a gorgeous country to visit, with many national parks. You also have beaches, which is an all-time favorite amongst tourists. If you get tired of the small cities, you have Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, two cities that basically never sleep. Another city that is very popular is Hoi An, the more traditional and small city with a ton of charm. Go there to see all the colors of the lanterns at night, eat good, traditional Vietnamese cuisine and buy the most colorful souvenirs there. Whatever you are looking for, Vietnam caters for everyone!
So if you are interested in visiting Vietnam and you come from Hong Kong, you will first need to apply for a visa. There are three options for you: Apply for an e-visa (30days, single entry) or apply for a Visa on Arrival if want to stay for more than 30 days and the other one is to apply through the Vietnamese Consulate in Hong Kong.
1. Electronic visa or Vietnam e-visa for Hong Kong passport holders
From 01 Feb 2019, under Decision 17/2019/NĐ-CP of the Government of Vietnam, citizens of Hong Kong are eligible to apply online for an e-visa of Vietnam online (e-visa is a single entry valid for staying 30 days).
Hong Kong passport holders, who want to visit Vietnam for less than 30 days for a single trip, can apply online for an e-visa directly at the government website https://evisa.immigration.gov.vn(please note that the fee is non-refundable if you apply your e-visa at the government website).
If you want to secure your e-visa with refundable policy (100% satisfied or get back your money) you can apply your e-visa through our easy form application (filling your entry date, entry and exit port of arrival then submit your passport copy online) then we will take care the rest of procedure to get your e-visa on time as promise.
Note : if you want to visit Vietnam for multiple times in one month or want to visit Vietnam for more than one month, please choose options below :
2. Visa On Arrival – Apply online for pre-approval then pick up visa on arrival at the airport of Vietnam
If you opt for a Visa on Arrival (VOA), then you are allowed to enter Vietnam through any of these 5 international airports: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City. With this visa you are only allowed to enter Vietnam by air, which means that if you plan on coming to Vietnam by train, bus, car, et cetera, this visa will not be valid.
The Vietnam Visa on Arrival is preferred by many travelers since it is so efficient, simple, convenient, fast and time saving. It is also inexpensive. What you need to do is you complete an online application form, pay the processing fee, and you will then receive your Approval Letter via email. This should not take more than one hour to two business days, depending on the visa you have selected. You then wait for the visa approval. Once you get it, download it so you can present it at the airport and pick up your visa. When the staff sees the approval letter, you need to pay the stamp fee, and that’s it! You are ready to explore Vietnam.
This visa will help you get a multi-entry visa, so you can visit other countries and still be able to come back to Vietnam without having to apply for a visa again. With the Visa on Arrival you can apply to stay for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and even up to 12 months! Just make sure that you apply for a visa in time before you are leaving to Vietnam, so you have all the papers ready.
3. The last option is to apply at a Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in Hong Kong.
This is a bit more complicated, because if you live far away then you have to spend money and time on traveling. If your application is denied because of missing important documents or so, then you have to do the process all over again.
Whichever option you choose, it is relatively easy to obtain a Vietnam Visa and once you get it, it’s so worth it. So, do as many others and come to sunny and beautiful Vietnam you too! You won’t regret it.
