What does Fiji and Vietnam have in common? Well, they both have incredibly beautiful nature, beaches, a stunning landscape and friendly locals. But even if there are a lot of things that you can find in your own home country, you still want to venture out and explore the outside world. And Vietnam is definitely a great place to visit. The history, culture, nature, beaches, people, food, landscape and much more are some of the reasons why it has become such a huge tourist destination. People from all over the world are visiting Vietnam. Nowadays it has become easier to travel there because of the high influx of backpackers, travelers, expats, et cetera. More hotels and hostels are being built, it has become more tourist friendly, but the prices still remains very low. Vietnam is known for being a budget-friendly destination, so if you don’t have a lot to spend – it is a perfect place to go to.
Many people tend to spend at least 1 month here in order to see everything they want to see. Either they start from the north or the south and make their way up or down. If you are starting from the north, don’t miss going to Sapa and Ha Giang! That’s where you get to meet Vietnam’s ethnic minority groups and you get to see a completely different side of Vietnam that you won’t be able to see elsewhere. This is also where you see the famous rice terraces. Hanoi and Halong Bay are two other very important cities you need to visit in the north. Once you are starting to make your way down south, make a pit stop in Hue, the former capital city of Vietnam. Afterwards, make your way to Hoi An, which has quickly become a favorite amongst many tourists. It is a quaint and small town which offers a lot more than many other bigger cities. It is also incredibly beautiful at night, when all the lanterns are being lit. It is truly a spectacular place, one that should not be missed. Once you have made your way further south, you will need to go to Vietnam’s biggest city, Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. The city never sleeps and you won’t be bored here – there is too much to do and too many things to eat. It’s a city that you either love or hate.
But before you go on your adventure, make sure that you apply for a Vietnam visa in order to be able to enter the country. If you are a citizen from Fiji, you will need to apply for a visa. But this process is thankfully very easy and affordable and you will have your Vietnam visa in no time. You have three options: apply online for an e-visa (if visiting Vietnam in less than 30 days, single entry) or apply online for pre-approval then pick up Visa on Arrival (if visiting Vietnam for more than 30 days) or go to the nearest Vietnam Embassy or Consulate and get your visa there.
1. Electronic visa or Vietnam e-visa for Fijian passport holders
From 01 Feb 2019, under Decision 17/2019/NĐ-CP of the Government of Vietnam, citizens of Fiji are eligible to apply online for an e-visa of Vietnam online (e-visa is a single entry valid for staying 30 days).
Fijian passport holders, who want to visit Vietnam for less than 30 days for a single trip, can apply online for an e-visa directly at the government website https://evisa.immigration.gov.vn (please note that the fee is non-refundable if you apply your e-visa at the government website).
If you want to secure your e-visa with refundable policy (100% satisfied or get back your money) you can apply your e-visa through our easy form application (filling your entry date, entry and exit port of arrival then submit your passport copy online) then we will take care the rest of procedure to get your e-visa on time as promise.
Note : if you want to visit Vietnam for multiple times in one month or want to visit Vietnam for more than one month, please choose options below :
2. Visa on Arrival – VOA
This option is preferred by many foreigners who comes to Vietnam. It is easy to apply to, convenient, quick and it saves you time. You can also apply for the VOA from anywhere in the world. All you need is your computer and internet. If you apply for this visa, you are allowed to enter Vietnam through any of the 5 international airports in Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hai Phong. You can only travel by air if you get a VOA, meaning you can’t enter Vietnam by bus, car, et cetera.
The process of visa on arrival is very easy. What you need to do is fill out the Online Application form where you state your date of birth, and other relevant information. Then you wait for a confirmation email that will come in around 1-2 working hours. Normally you will receive a Visa Approval Letter within 2 working days. When the letter comes, don’t forget to print it out so the immigration officers in Vietnam can stamp your passport. If by chance you need to get an emergency visa, it will cost you more money, but you will be able to get it faster. It will take from 30 minutes to 4 hours.
You now also have the option to buy “On Arrival Support”, which is a very good option for those who wants to check in to Vietnam faster:
- Standard Support : +US$20/pp
Our staff will meet you in front of the “visa on arrival” desk with a welcome board, then take care all procedures necessary to get the visa stamped on your passport. Please prepare 25 USD/person and give it to our staff to pay for visa stamp fee.
- VIP Support : +US$35/pp
Our staff will meet you in front of the “visa on arrival” desk with a welcome board, receive your passport and give it back with the visa in 5-10 minutes, then escort you to check out via the VIP gate. Please prepare 25 USD/person and give it to our staff to pay for visa stamp fee.
3. Apply for a visa through the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in the nearby countries of Fiji
The second option is to apply for a visa in the closest Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in Fiji. The reason why this option might not be recommended is because it’s not as convenient if you don’t live close to the embassy. It means you will have to spend time on transportation and money. You will also need to remember to bring all the necessary documents, such as passport, and if you by any chance forget anything, you need to start all over again with the process. It is time consuming and you usually need to pick up your passport in the embassy. However, this is one of the choices that you can choose from, so if you happen to prefer this option, then it is good to know that it exists.
After you have gotten your visa, you can enter the country and start enjoying your adventure in one of Asia’s most beautiful countries!
