If you are a Chinese citizen, there are three ways for you to get a Vietnam Visa. First of all, you need your passport to be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival date in Vietnam, then you can start applying for your visa. You can opt for a Visa on Arrival, which is the quickest and easiest method to get your visa. But this is only valid if you choose to travel by air and arrives in one of the following airports:
- Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City
- Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi
- Da Nang International Airport in Da Nang
- Cam Ranh International Airport in Nha Trang city (Khanh Hoa province)
- Cat Bi International Airport in Hai Phong city

So, if you are planning on traveling via bus, train, boat, et cetera, this visa will not be valid for you. With the Visa on Arrival, you complete an online application form, pay the processing fee (either with your credit card or through PayPal) and you will then receive your Approval Letter via e-mail. This should not take more than one hour to two business days, depending on the visa you have selected. You then wait for the visa approval and once you get it, download it so you can present it at the airport and pick up your visa.
