Citizens from Brunei are on the Vietnam visa exemption list, meaning that they can stay in the country without a visa for a period of time. Citizens from Brunei can stay in Vietnam for 14 days or under. If they wish to extend, they will need to apply for a Vietnam visa. Fortunately, the visa process is easy, affordable and quick. There are two options if you are from Brunei: one is to apply for an e-visa if staying for less than 30 days with single entry; if you wish to stay for more than 30 days you can apply for a Visa on Arrival at the international airports of Vietnam or go to your local Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate and apply for a visa on the spot.
1. Electronic visa or Vietnam E-Visa for Bruneian passport holders
This is an actual visa which will be issued electronically, and you can show it at the passport control when you are entering Vietnam. You don’t need to stop by the landing visa desk to pick up the actual visa as you would have to with a “Visa on Arrival” (VOA). The fee is low and is non-refundable if rejected or failed. There is, however, an opportunity to get a 100% Money Back Guarantee policy if you apply your e-visa through our website https://www.evisa-vietnam.com – the price is higher with this insurance. The E-Visa is really easy to apply to and it allows travelers to apply directly online. It also allows you to enter Vietnam via airports, land ports and seaports. So if you are planning on coming to Vietnam by cruise ship, road or airplane, this is a good choice.
The E-visa is valid for 30 days, single entry, which means that if you intend on staying for longer and wish to have a multiple-entries visa, you will have to apply for a Visa on Arrival.
2. Visa on Arrival (VOA) – Apply online for pre-approval then pick up visa on arrival at the airport of Vietnam
If you choose to apply for a Visa on Arrival, also called VOA, you need to fill out all necessary information in the online form you can find in our website. The VOA is the most popular option since it is convenient, easy to apply to, quick and affordable. You can apply for this visa from anywhere in the world. All you need is a computer and internet. Also important to note is that you don’t have to send away your passport, or other important private documents, anywhere. Once you have filled out the Online Application Form, you will get a confirmation email within 1-2 working hours in order to see the status of your Online Application. You will then normally receive your Approval Letter within 2 business days. When the letter comes, don’t forget to print it out so the immigration officers in Vietnam can stamp your passport.
If, by any chance, you need to get the Vietnam visa more urgently, there is the option to apply for an Emergency Visa. We will then proceed your visa within 30 minutes to 4 hours. As soon as you arrive at one of the International Airports in Vietnam, you will have your visa ready.
Also, you now have the option to buy “On Arrival Support”, which is a very good option for those who wants to check in to Vietnam faster:
- Standard Support : +US$20/pp
Our staff will meet you in front of the “visa on arrival” desk with a welcome board, then take care all procedures necessary to get the visa stamped on your passport. Please prepare 25 USD/person and give it to our staff to pay for visa stamp fee.
- VIP Support : +US$35/pp
Our staff will meet you in front of the “visa on arrival” desk with a welcome board, receive your passport and give it back with the visa in 5-10 minutes, then escort you to check out via the VIP gate. Please prepare 25 USD/person and give it to our staff to pay for visa stamp fee.
3. Get visa through the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in Brunei
If you do not wish to apply for a VOA, there is the opportunity to get a visa at the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in Brunei. This is not preferred by many though, since it can be quite inconvenient if you don’t live close to the embassy or consulate. You will have to then spend time and money on transportation and will have to remember to bring all necessary documents in order for the process to go through. If you fail to bring everything, you will have to start the process all over again. This can be time consuming, but it is the second option for you to choose from.
When you have decided to travel to Vietnam and applied for the visa, you are ready for a journey you won’t soon forget. Vietnam has been a hotspot for quite some time now and it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Here you will find a mix of people from every corner of the world – China, England, Ghana, Australia, Sweden – you name it. The expat community is growing bigger as well. If you want to visit a country where you can see beautiful rice terraces, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, sand beaches, big cities that never sleeps and a unique landscape, then you must head over to Vietnam.
So don’t waste anymore of your time – get your Vietnam visa, book your flight and come over to see what Vietnam has to offer!
